Power Liposuction For Faster Recovery

Posted By David Sayah, MD

Power-assisted liposuction (PAL) is an increasingly popular choice for those seeking a more modern approach toward the body contouring benefits of liposuction. The reason is simple: a faster, easier recovery combined with superior results, making PAL an attractive option for removing stubborn fat pockets to enhance the figure.

HOW IS POWER LIPO DIFFERENT?

Traditional liposuction requires the surgeon to manually break up fatty deposits, vigorously pushing the cannula back and forth under the skin. Power-assisted lipo employs a vibrating cannula that mechanically breaks up the fat instead, reducing the amount of physical effort required by the surgeon.

LESS DOWNTIME

The significant decrease in the amount of force the surgeon uses during PAL results in less trauma to the surrounding tissues, which translates to less swelling and bruising after the procedure. Overall, patients report that the gentler nature of this method gives them a quicker, more comfortable recovery compared to traditional lipo.

BETTER RESULTS

In addition to the benefits immediately following the procedure, patients opting for PAL report more dramatic long-term results as well. The special cannula utilized during PAL creates a rapid, frictional vibration which allows the surgeon to aspirate fat faster than in traditional lipo for a shorter procedure time, in combination with removing a higher volume of fat.

Liposuction has long been the perfect option for attaining a slimmer, more sculpted figure that sometimes just isn’t possible with diet and exercise alone. The quicker, easier recovery offered by power lipo compared with impressive results makes this body sculpting option a great way to achieve the body you deserve.
