6 Celebrity-Inspired Workouts

According to research conducted by the University of Scranton and published in the Journal of Clinical Psychology, the No. 1 New Year’s resolution people make is to lose weight. In fact, nearly 40 percent of individuals in the United States vow to improve their weight during the New Year.

If you are one of these individuals, you might be wondering where to start. Along with following a healthy diet, adhering to a consistent exercise routine is vital for losing weight. To help you keep your New Year’s resolution this year — finally! — here are six celebrity-inspired workouts. Doing one a day will help keep liposuction specialist Dr. Sayah away.

Hiking

When you need to get in some cardiovascular exercise but don’t feel like hitting the pavement for a run, try hiking. Being outdoors imparts a sense of calm while providing beautiful views at every goal marker (i.e., hill top). Karlie Kloss, Julianne Hough and Katie Holmes are just a few of the fans of this indoor cycling class that provides inspirational coaching, rocking music and a full-body workout, thanks to the hand weights and core work included in the 45-minute class.

Yoga

Not only does yoga provide a sanctuary from the paparazzi, it also helps improve flexibility and build strength. So many celebrities are fans of yoga, whether it is the Ashtanga, Hatha or Vinyasa variety. Some of the most well-known celebrity yogis include Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna and Lady Gaga.

Bootcamp

Yes, people actually sign up for bootcamp-style workouts, during which participants can burn up to 1,000 calories in a one-hour class. Getting yelled at for an hour while performing high-intensity interval training? “Yes please!” say Katie Holmes, Jessica Biel, Sandra Bullock and Katie Couric.
