Why Winter Is A Good Time To Undergo Liposuction

Posted By David Sayah, MD

In Southern California, it’s difficult to remember the changing of the seasons. We are lucky to enjoy year-round sunshine and a mild climate. Nevertheless, there are certain qualities of the next few months that make winter a popular season for plastic surgeons, including Dr. Sayah. His office is typically bustling throughout November and December. Here’s why so many patients choose to have liposuction in the wintertime:

EASY TO TAKE TIME OFF WORK

Depending on your unique circumstances, you will need to take between one and two weeks off work to recover from surgery. Busy professionals know that it can be nerve-wracking to step away from a demanding job. Thankfully, many offices slow down around the November and December holidays, and bosses become more generous with vacation requests.

CONVENIENTLY RECRUIT HELP

On the day of your surgery, you’ll need someone to drive you home and stay with you for 24 hours. After that, you’ll be up and on your feet, but you may need help with cooking, cleaning, driving and other everyday chores. A college-aged child home for semester break or a next-door neighbor on her holiday vacation is the perfect companion to assist you as you recover from surgery.

HIDE POST-OPERATIVE BRUISING AND SWELLING

After liposuction, the treated area will have some bruising and swelling (temporary, of course). Within a few days of surgery, you may feel ready to go out in public, but concerned about covering up bruises and swelling. It’s much easier to conceal these post-operative side effects with long pants and sleeves than it would be in the summer when shorts and t-shirts are regular wear.

SURPRISE FRIENDS AND FAMILY

Provided you plan appropriately, and give yourself enough time to recover, you could show up to your family’s annual holiday gathering looking like a slimmer, more attractive version of yourself! Think of how great it will be to show off your new look to your loved ones at Christmas dinner or a New Year’s Eve soirée.

START THE NEW YEAR OFF ON THE RIGHT FOOT

The end of the year is a great time to reflect on what you accomplished this year, and think about what you hope to accomplish next year. If next year’s resolutions are health or appearance related, get a head start with liposuction. Go into the New Year looking and feeling your best! With your newly enhanced curves, you will have the confidence you need to pursue a new set of goals — whether they are personal, professional or otherwise.

If you’d like to learn more about your liposuction options, Dr. Sayah would be pleased to meet with you. Please contact our office by calling (310) 984-1150, and schedule a consultation with the doctor.
